Siddhas are with us ...! Chapter - 11, kalyanamalaimagazine

It was a small hamlet. The people there were all believers in God and had respect for elders. Mostly their occupation was farming. For quite sometime they were all planning to visit holy places like Gaya, Banares and Hardwar to perform the rites on the banks of the holy rivers to propitiate the souls of their ancestors. But due to the absence of the monsoon, the village had no rains. The fields became dry. This situation continued for eighteen years. People suffered a lot and many left the place in search of livelihood. The few, who were stay put, started losing faith in God.

At this juncture, a yogi came to the hamlet one day. The people were frustrated that they could not feed the yogi even with one meal because of their poverty. And, some of them, who had still some faith in God, prayed to Lord Siva. Like a miracle, heavy rain started pouring! The villagers realized that the yogi was not an ordinary human being but that he must be a Siddha. All the villagers fell at the feet of that yogi and expressed their helplessness in being unable to offer him food because all the firewood had got drenched in the rain. At this, the Siddha told them to go to the kitchen and start cooking, not bothering about anything. All the people went to their kitchens and were surprised to see that the firewood was totally dry! Also, vegetables and provisions required for cooking were found there! And, within half an hour, the food was ready in all the houses! At each house, a cook entered and prepared the food in no time and disappeared! Everything happened as though in a movie! It was a mind boggling experience!
