The siddha said that the rivers would come to their hamlet
When the villagers went to the yogi to invite him for feast at their houses, they were all surprised to see the yogi having a sumptuous feast! A plantain leaf had been laid before him and all the dishes prepared in their houses had been served! When the yogi finished eating, they all fell at his feet and asked him for his identity. At this, the yogi asked them whether they were all disappointed at their inability to go to Banares and Hardwar to perform the rites. When the villagers affirmed, the yogi told that there was no need for them to go to those holy rivers and instead, the rivers would come to their hamlet! And, he asked them all to go to the stream that would contain not only the rain-water but also the holy water where they could perform the rites. The villagers were taken aback when they saw the holy waters in the stream. When they returned after performing the rites, the Siddha was proceeding towards the north.
Later, the people came to know that it was Pankuni Rudra Siddha. The incident took place at Puvalur, near Lalgudi and Trichy. This incident is a proof for the belief that Siddhas are with us even today, willing to help us at times of emergency.
