Love is bliss …! – Artist Maruthi

Artist Maruthi

Q: Can you tell us about any of the moments when you were moved and became emotional …

A: My second daughter Suhasini did her MBA in an institute in Pune. She got a job there and was preparing to leave us to join it. But we were worried over the thing that she had to go there all alone and arrange things for her stay. We offered to accompany her so that we could arrange a house and other things. But she denied telling that supposing she was going to US, she couldn’t expect us to accompany her and so, there was no need for us to go with her. Also, she added that I was her inspiration in that I had roamed on the streets for days together without food in my efforts to become an artist and that she would also reach a position in her life through her own efforts like her father. She thanked me for giving her very good education. The important part of it is that I had never shared my past tribulations with my children. She had attentively listened to my talk with people like you and had grasped things. The words of my daughter moved me very much though I felt very happy at my heart. Today’s generation should cultivate this self-confidence and plan their future accordingly. After marriage, they should focus their attention to become ideal parents to their children. This aim itself would dissolve all the differences and problems between the husband and the wife. Divorces would become a thing of the past. Kalyanamalai and Light Foundation, both are doing a beautiful job in this area.

On leaving, we felt very happy on having met and shared the experiences of a wise man who started his life as an artist, designed his life as a poem and continues to live on the lines ‘drawn’ by him. The present generation should take a leaf out of Maruthi’s book.
