Q: Please tell us about your books and CDs …

A: A: ‘Vaanga sirikkalaam’, ‘Paraparappu surusuruppu’ are humorous books based on my own experiences. ‘Ilakkiya chiththirangkalum konjam sinimaavum’ was a series published in Kalyanamalai. Now, it has been compiled as a book and has been released too. I’ve written ‘Pesum kalai’, a book on oratorical skills to help orators. It has seen many editions and is selling like hot cake. My series ‘Ulagam ungal kaiyil’, published in ‘Chutti Vikatan’ and my morning program ‘Inraiya sinthanai’ on Jaya TV have come in the form of CD. More than thirty students of mine have completed M. Phil. and Ph. D. and this achievement got me the ‘Kalaimaamani’ award of the Tamil Nadu Government. These are all great honors to me. But above everything, I cherish the honor bestowed on me and my wife by Light Foundation, a wing of Kalyanamalai, declaring us as ‘ideal couple’, it would be evergreen in my memory. This program accentuates the truth ‘Behind every successful man, there’ll be his wife’.

Q: What do you have to say about a successful marriage? What is your advice?

A: A: It is not possible for anyone to remain happy all the time. We should understand this truth in the first place. I also feel disappointed if my expectation is belied. At the same time, some happenings that take place as per our wish might invite unwanted controversy at a later stage. I used to be tensed up at times as I am required to undertake frequent tours. But my wife will keep everything ready for my trip. I used to be away even on festival days and important function of our relatives and friends. But my family will attend the functions without fail. My wife will forget her anger instantly and become friendly again without fuss. It is not possible to avoid face-offs totally, but it is very important to see that we don’t allow the differences to grow. Children will surely listen to us if we tell them in a nice way. Wherever I am, I can conduct my programs successfully only if I am sure of the welfare of my family members after talking to them. I want to stress that all my popularity as an orator and a literary person is possible because of my wife and children who lend great support to me and my activities.
